Logistics for the oil sector

Logistics is a fundamental element of any project, acquiring a special dimension in the oil and energy sector. The logistical range for this sector includes planning, preparing and distributing resources during the entire execution time of the works.

Typically, the supply chain in the oil sector is divided into three segments. The Upstream sector is in charge of finding/producing crude oil. The Midstream sector handles the transportation and storage of the energy product, followed by the Downstream sector, which is responsible for the distribution and marketing of the finished products.

Adequate logistics management includes storage, inventory management and hazardous materials that are costly and difficult to replace in case of loss. It will also be in charge of land, sea or air transportation of waste, tools and other elements necessary for the development of the activities in a safe, efficient manner and within the time required for the completion of each phase of the project.
